Ladies, don’t waste your weekends!

Saturdays and Sundays are the most awaited days of the week. Throughout the week, either your boss or clients are making you go insane. All you’re dreaming of is for a relaxing weekend to find some time for yourself.

You probably want to catch up on Facebook, TV shows or movies, right? That’s not a bad idea obviously, but it’s certainly better if you do not entirely waste your weekends on this.

Have you wondered of the other possible things to make you feel relaxed yet occupied? Let’s have a look at some of the factors:

Mornings are the best time for you

yogaUsually weekend mornings are spent lazing around in bed. But if you wake up before your family, you can find plenty of time to jog or exercise. Since rest of the day is usually spent with family and friends, utilize this time for yourself and don’t let it go waste. It is the most peaceful time of the whole day.

Avoid using your phone

Yes, it’s hard to cut off from your professional life when you have a demanding career, but it’s for the better. Avoiding all forms of technology during the weekend gives you space for some other things you can do instead. Staying away from phone means relaxing. Instead you can gather your friends or family to play a game of scrabble or monopoly with you. If not that, then how about you catch up on reading a book?

Make a plan

Forming a structure or a schedule of your weekend will give you an idea on how to go about it. Not a minute-by-minute plan, but spend some time thinking about what you’d like to do on the weekend. It is effective to have a very to do listgood list of things to do!

Do something fun on Sundays

The worst thing about Sunday is knowing that next day is Monday.  Planning for Sunday night makes you forget dreading Mondays.

Laura Vanderkam writes in her book, What The Most Successful People Do On The Weekend, “it extends the weekend and keeps you focused on the fun to come, rather than the next morning. You could make a tradition of a big family dinner or taking up a yoga class early in the evening.”

Leave the chores for the weekdays

Chores don’t take up a lot of time. Keep your weekends free for rejuvenating activities. Finishing chores shouldn’t be central to your weekend because they often expand to fill available time. Instead, try to do a chore each day during the week. Throw your clothes for laundry when you get back from work, till the time you go do the grocery.

If you want a sparkling house, then leave the Sunday afternoon to clean it up. Even if you see your house in a mess on Saturday then you know you have plenty of time till next day to clean it up. Involve your kids into it, divide activities so it’s a collective effort.

Book an appointment at the spa

You deserve a break after a stressful week. Book yourself a relaxing session at the spa and cut yourself from all the worries, stress and madness! It surely is going to be worth it and would be your best decision over the weekend.

Reward yourself for productivity

And finally, you must reward yourself to boost your motivation level.  Make a deal with yourself that you can get ice cream as soon as you accomplish four around-the-house tasks, for example. With this little treat hanging over your head you’ll likely find the chores you tackle, less loathsome.

Doing a different kind of labor allows your mind and body to recover from the typical stresses you encounter during the week.

If you want to live more like the happiest and most successful people, you should stop squandering those brilliant two days at the end of the week.
