A reminder for 20-somethings: You’re not old

Dear 20-somethings,

Reached 20 and feeling old already? Surely you are! It’s insane how time is passing by so quickly. You just chase time and think where you should begin implementing your goals from.

That’s impressive, but don’t stress yourself by thinking you’re getting old. No you’re not! Before you actually step into your professional life, you’ve got a lot of happening things in the pipeline!

Here is how you should learn to enjoy the age of 20’s:

Beginning of your career

This is the age when you actually start looking for job. You’re a college/university student, so you know what you’re studying and where your education will lead you. It’s time to upgrade your CV’s, and start looking for mentors who can guide you before you take this huge step in your life.

Be creative

Facebook is boring and a waste of time. It is, really! You are the most capable, creative, knowledgeable & multi-tasking generation yet.

There is something beyond being ‘proficient in MS office.’ Look out for new stuff! Now is the age to explore, learn and discover. If you have love for photography, then learn the art of editing photos. Such as, Adobe Photoshop or Picasa.

Alright, if not then, so just grab a good book linked to your profession, it can do wonders! Learn more about your craft. Master it.

Take a vacation

You truly need to break your monotonous routine! So go ahead and explore the most beautiful areas within your country. Just make it a goal to experience and learn new things and you’ll be motivated to make bold decisions about your life.  Exploring new place and new cultures will open up your mind!

Plan sleepovers

Now is the time to enjoy! If not now then what are you waiting for? Make your college years as memorable as ever. Be if the beginning or your last semester, you must do something crazy with your friends. Everyone needs a good story every now and then.

Be active

Exercise is just as important as everything else in life. Get on board. Utilize your mornings to get your work done! Studies have revealed that you’re very productive in the morning. Nobody is there to bother or distract you! It’s just you and yourself. Don’t let mornings go wasted.

Avoid being lazy when you know you have a lot of work to do because everything apart from work seems interesting. If you’re not in the mood to work, then don’t worry! Find something else. You might just want to go and cook, hang out with friends, or clean your room.

Make new friends

Your friendship must not just be limited to being ‘Facebook friends’ only. There are so many awesome people in the world. A simple hello can take you places you have never imagined.

Knowing a small group of folks very well, or a huge smattering of contacts superficially, just won’t cut it.  Meet and stay connected to lots of people, and invest your time developing as many of those relationships as possible.

Bring it on; it’s time to get started!
